About the project

This project aims that students improve their art,technology skills while they reach the beauty of reading.Also they will improve English language skills(reading,speaking,listening and writing)We choose a common English story or novel book and divide it into a few parts.As pre-reading activities they will research about the author and design their own book cover.All pupils read the parts of the book at the same period.We sometimes have face to face reading sessions at different places .After reading each part,pupils interpret them by drawing pictures,performing small sketches and exchange ideas on forum section or chatroom.We create online quizzes,games and voting pools via web2 tools.Before reading last part,students write their own end for the book.As final products, we summarize the book and record a common video.We create an e-book that includes students’drawings and book summary.We prepare a common virtual theatre play consisting of students’ sketches.

Aims

Students will be able to;
improve their language skills( reading,writing,listening and speaking),
improve their art skills,
increase their vocabulary knowledge,
acquire more positive attitudes towards reading,
find inspiration and gain different perspectives,
raise more awareness about internet ethics and e-security issues,
learn how to use technology in learning process,
develop their creative thinking skills and sense of responsibility,
gain more self-confidence in communication and collaboration with others.

Work process

In October: Selection of students- Introduction of teachers,students,schools and towns/cities-Project and e-security information-preparation of parents' permission petitions, posters and logos-Selection of the book that students will read-Teacher introduction webinar and students introduction chat-Pre-surveys for students and teachers.
In November: Research about the author of the chosen book-Designing our own book cover-Works on e-security-Creation blogger and facebook accounts-Starting to read common book.
In December-January:Reading the book at the same time-Face to face reading sessions-Interpretation of the book by drawing pictures and performing small sketches-Preparation of some online games,quizzes,voting pools -Discussions on forum section and chatroom.
In February: Preparing a summary the book and recording a common video-Creation an e-book that includes students’drawings and book summary- Preparation of a virtual theatre play that includes students’sketches- Evaulation.
